When Charles and Rebecca were first invited to base their ministry at Bluefield College in 2000, the Academic Dean and College President gave them a clear mandate: "Come and teach our students to do what you do."

This was a challenge Charles and Rebecca took seriously. From the moment they arrived on the Bluefield campus in the fall of 2001 their chief goal was to create an academic program that could effectively train Christian artists for ministry, equipping them with both an artistic/academic background in theatre arts but with a solid foundation in theology/religious studies. That goal was achieved in December of 2003 when Bluefield College established a major in Christian Drama (one of the first in the nation). The following fall six students were enrolled in the program.

Curriculum for the Christian Drama major includes both theatre and religion classes as well as required hours spent on one of the college's two drama ministry teams, Ransomed or Act I.

"We are very proud of this program. We feel like we are preparing the next generation of Christian artists for ministry and service. We are giving them some of the best academic and artistic training available but then giving them something we were never given--training in the basics of how to conduct and administrate a ministry."
