 Voice 2: God is our refuge

 Voice 1: Our strength,

 Voice 2: Our safe haven

 Voice 1: Our God is a . . . .

 Both: Very present help . . .

 Voice 1: In time of trouble.

 Chorus: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

 Voice 1: Why should we be afraid?

 Voice 2: Even when  the earth moves,

 Voice 1: Or the hills shake

 Voice 2: When the oceans roar

 Voice 1: And  the mountains quake

 Both: We will not fear

 Chorus: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

 Voice 2: Even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death . . .

 Both: I will fear no evil

 Chorus: The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

 Pause

 Voice 1: There is a haven--even in the heart of the strife

 Voice 2: A safe haven

 Both: The city of God

 Voice 1: A river runs through it

 Voice 2: God is in the midst of her,

 Voice 1: And she  . . .

 Both: SHALL NOT

 Voice 1:  be moved.

 Voice 2: Nations rage,

 Voice 1: Kingdoms totter;

 Voice 2: But dont be afraid.

 Voice 1: Remember, all  he has to do is utter one word . . .

 Both: And the earth melts.

 Voice 2: He is still in control

 Voice 1: Come, behold the works of our God!

 Voice 2: He makes wars cease

 Voice 1: He breaks the bow,

 Voice 2: He shatters the spear,

 Voice 1: He burns the chariots with fire!

 Voice 2: The God who is our peace

 Voice 1: So don't be afraid?

 Voice 2: In the midst of the strife

 Voice 1: In the heart of the storm

 Voice 2: He breathes his promise of peace

 Voice 1: (whisper) I will be exalted among the nations

 Chorus: The LORD of hosts is with us . . .

 Voice 2: (a little louder)  I will be exalted in the earth!

 Chorus: The God of Jacob is our refuge!

 Voice 1: (a little louder) Be still . . .and know—

 Both: That I--am--God.
